The Greater East Austin Youth Association (GEAYA) is a volunteer organization established in 1975 to provide organized and structured sports activities for the economically disadvantaged youth of East Austin. Since its inception, GEAYA strives to provide quality programs for boys and girls in the area. The principle for these efforts, in addition to providing a safe and fun environment for competitive participation, is to instill and reinforce a strong sense of values in the youth we serve.

Volunteers are encouraged to support the GEAYA.  Dedicated individuals are needed for coaching, mentoring, event planning and organizing.  Volunteers are a major asset to the success and enrichment of our programs.  Call (512) 542-9843.

The sports programming aspects of GEAYA are Youth Football, Basketball, Little League Baseball and Girls Softball. Since our inception, we have grown to serve over 3,500 young people. In 2004, we will add a new emphasis on our Cheerleading Program, which will consist of approximately 300 young females. 

In 1996, the City of Austin Parks and Recreation (PARD) designated GEAYA as the official City sponsor of the Annual Juneteenth Celebration. PARD's effort through GEAYA would raise the cultural awareness and embrace the diversity of this historical event for all of Austin.

Our primary focus continues to be to provide safe and structured sports activities for our youth and to develop interpersonal relationships between our youth and the adult volunteer coaches.
